After only a month in power, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema has earned some praise online for travelling to America with lean team.
Hichilema is attending the ongoing United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Leaving Zambia on Monday on a commercial Qatar Airways Flight from Lusaka Airport, Hichilema was seen leaving with two of his ministers.
Prior taking over the highest position in Zambia, Hichilema said that his government will ensure that public funds are not misused.
“Just like we promised before taking office, we will ensure prudent management of public resources and have therefore travelled with a lean team that is composed of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Finance, Stanley Kakubo and Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane respectively,” he said.
Following the move to fly with lean team to UNGA, Hichilema has been praised by most \people on social media as it is not common by most African leaders.
