A locomotive train bearing registration number K546 coming from the direction of Moartize in Mozambique heading to Liwonde, has hit to death an unknown man in Neno district at around 23:30 hours last night.
Neno police public relations officer Sub-Inspector Austin Kamwendo has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Kamwendo, the incident happened at a place known as Kanono when the train operator noticed a man lying on the rail with a motorcycle by his side before running him over.
He said the body is currently being kept at Lisungwi hospital mortuary pending identification.
