The High Court in Lilongwe has stayed proceedings of the K7 billion Malawi Police Service food rations case against businessperson Zameer Karim and two others for the defence to review an amendment the State made on the charge sheet by adding an offence of money laundering.
Hearing of the case was supposed to proceed today at the Chief Resident Magistrate’s Court before the High Court granted Karim the stay order.
Karim’s lawyer Alex Nampota has told the press that they want the High Court to determine the legality of the amendment.
