The High court Commercial Division in Blantyre has ordered Matindi Private Academy Limited to pay for damages in a lease case against Maranatha Boys Academy.

Earlier last month, Maranatha Boys Academy filed an application against its landlord who was claiming unpaid rentals from the school owner and Managing Director Ernest Kaonga.

The landlord Elvis Nserebo was claiming K13 million in unpaid rentals which saw sheriffs impounding the property.

Meanwhile, in his judgment, High Court judge Justice Masauko Msungama has ordered Matindi to pay for damages which include; loss of business, trespassing and bleach of lease agreement.

The court has since said it will do an assessment on the actual amount to be paid.
