KENYA – A middle-aged man is said to have stabbed his wife to death at Afraha apartments in Nakuru East Sub County, near St Mary’s Primary School before attempting to kill himself, reports say.
Witnesses told the police that the suspect tried to kill himself by jumping off the balcony of their apartment but was rescued, albeit with injuries.
According to Nakuru East Sub County Police Commander Ellena Kabukuru, who confirmed the incident, the suspect Paul Ochieng, 40, had a domestic conflict with his wife Njeri Kamande, 27, before the incident.
The suspect was rushed to Nakuru Level 5 Hospital under tight security and will face murder charges.
The couple’s 5-year-old twins, according to the OCPD were rescued and accommodated by neighbours during the night incident.
At the scene of the crime, police recovered a knife, that’s now in their custody and will be presented as evidence.
The body of the deceased was removed to the Nakuru County Mortuary.
