Canadian Ambassador to Malawi, Caroline Delany has called on Malawians to consider taking Covid-19 vaccine, emphasizing that this is the only way of ensuring ones safety.
Speaking on Wednesday at Makoka in Zomba at a function conducted by African Medicine Research Foundation (AMREF), Delany said there was a lot of hesitation among Malawians with regards to Covid-19 vaccines.
Delany observed that a high number of Malawians do not also seek medical attention from hospitals whenever taken ill.
“Covid-19 vaccine is absolutely essential in fighting the pandemic. The vaccines have huge potential of reducing chances of one being infected with the virus. However, there is a lot of anxiety about it, something that we must deal with,” Delany said.
She, however, commended AMREF for its efforts in the fight against Covid-19 and for implementing various activities aimed at improving the well-being of Malawians.
