News coming in on our news desk indicate that the outspoken United Transformation Movement (UTM) Executive Member Dr. Jessie Kabwira has resigned from active politics.
According to information at hand, Kabwira says she want to concentrate on academic work.
The academic freedom fighter has also said that she will be joining the Malawi Institute of Management (MIM) as its Executive Dean.
Before joining politics, Kabwira served as a lecturer at the University of Malawi formerly known as Chancellor College.
in 2014, she was later elected as Salima North legislature and the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) spokesperson before falling out with the MCP leadership and prompted her to join the vice president Saulos Chilima led movement.
Apart from politics and academics, Kabwira is also a feminist and respect human rights activist.
