Malawi’s Minister of Information Gospel Kazako has today launched a Free Public Wi-Fi initiative in the commercial city of Blantyre.
Kazako said free internet connectivity in public places like hospitals, schools and airports will assist to ease communication challenges.
“We cannot develop as a country without embracing new technologies, so access to affordable internet is vital,” Kazako said.
While adding that Globalization demands an upward thinking, the Minister also said that Kamuzu International and Chileka airports will have free Wi-Fi,” said Kazako.
Before launching the initiative, Kazako visited Blantyre market to appreciate the efficiency of the Wi-Fi where vendors hailed government for the project
The Free Public Wi-Fi initiative will provide an opportunity to Malawians to access free reliable high speed internet services in public places.
