A 25 year old man in Ntcheu has died after he threw himself in front of a moving car after he hacked his wife at home.
The deceased has been identified as Samson Wailesi, according to Ntcheu police spokesperson Rabecca Kwisongole.
According to Kwisongole, Wailesi was suspecting that his wife was having an affair.
Wailesi the hacked his wife with a machete on the head and arms before rushing to the road to threw himself in front of a moving vehicle as an act of suicide.
“Throughout their marriage, there has been misunderstandings allegedly over infidelity, leading to constant violence between the two,” Kwisongole said.
The husband and wife were rushed to Ntcheu district hospital where Wailesi died.
The wife is still being treated for multiple wounds.
