There are emerging reports of violence in Dedza Central East Constituency where aspiring parliamentarians are battling it out in a political campaign ahead of by-elections on October 26.
UTM candidate in the constituency, Patrick Siwinda, also told the press that there was a near-clash over a political rally venue yesterday at Lombodzi ground and he had to give up for the sake of peace.
Dedza police spokesperson, Edward Kabango, says they have received a complaint to the effect that some people attacked the UTM office in the area, including uprooting UTM flags.
