Burial ceremony for veteran broadcaster, Hanania Kasiya Banda, is underway in his home village in Mchinji district.
Banda who has died at the age of 84, worked for the state broadcaster, Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), for 28 years, before he joined Zodiak Broadcasting Station, where he worked for a year.
Banda is survived with a daughter and five grandchildren.
He died on Sunday in Mchinji after suffering from asthma for a long time.
