A man aged 35 has died at Lumbadzi after consuming wild-beans locally known as “Kalongonda” which may not have been properly prepared.
Lumbadzi Police spokesperson, Felix Kwinyani, confirmed of the incident in an interview with the press, saying the incident happened on Tuesday.
According to Kwinyani, the deceased Chikumbutso Dymon together with his friends were working in a garden when the ate the wild beans.
They were given milk and eggs as first aid and were rushed to Kamuzu Central Hospital but Dymon died upon arrival while his friends survived after vomiting.
Dymon hails from Funsani Village, TA Mkukula, Lilongwe.
