Banks in the country have joined a war of words, popularly known as ‘beefs’ among local artists in the country.

It all started with urban music maestro Fredokiss and hip hop artist Phyzix who were fighting for Gheto kingship.

Things went out of hand when the two started composing songs attacking each other with the last piece from Fredokiss being ‘Dadada’.

In the song, Fredokiss attacked Phyzix and Matse, saying they are nowhere near him.

“Mukudissa sindingabweze/mukuhater sindingabweze/level yanga simungaipeze/mtanda wanga simungausenze (you beef and hate me but I pay you back with the opposite/am way ahead of you/you cannot carry my cross for its too heavy for you.).

As the tendency is slowly going down in the music industry, Banks seems to have joined the race with the latest being National Bank of Malawi and Standard Bank.

According to information at hand, National Bank erected a billboard near Standard Bank attacking its services.

The billboard carried this message: “Greatness starts with setting the Standard”.

This did not go down well with Standard Bank management who retaliated by erecting billboard near Nation bank.

“Be great ‘247’, not 6to6,” reads in part the message on Standard Bank’s billboard.
