The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested former government official Kingston Mazibuko for allegedly employing his under qualified son at government agency.
Confirming the development Egrita Ndala, ACB’s public relations officer, said that Mazibuko who was Human Resource Management officer at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development was arrested on October 13, 2021
According to Ndala, Mazibuko shortlisted his son Michael and was later employed as a Physical Planning Ranger at the Ministry.
The arrest of Mazibuko was made following a complaint the bureau received in 2017, investigations commenced until its conclusion this year.
“The bureau, then on October 13 this year, arrested Kingston Mazibuko who has since been charged with abuse of office and on 14 October he was released on bail,” Ndala said in a statement released on Wednesday evening, adding the suspect will appear in court on 2 December 2021 for commencement of trial.
