Business was disrupted a shortwhile ago at Pamodzi Park in Blantyre because Blantyre City Council sealed the premises over outstanding city rates.
Lawyer for the Park, Kuleza Phokoso, however, said the matter has been resolved and the Park is back into operation.
“The closure of the premises was a result of a mistake on the part of the City Council as our clients had already paid their city rates through a court settlement set off in a court matter bordering on money the council owed them for a commercial transaction elsewhere,” he said.
Blantyre City Council officials have embarked on a campaign of closing all business premises who are failing to remit city rates.
The situation is similar in Mzuzu where the council is all over town closing down business premises.
This morning the council pounced on Mzuzu University.
