One person is missing but three have swam ashore after a boat they were sailing in from Mozambique to Likoma Island capsized on Lake Malawi early this morning.
The accident occurred after the operator failed to control the boat which had charcoal and 4 passengers on board.
There have been heavy easterly winds on the lake today.
Chairperson for business community at Likoma Island, Phillip Chilambula, says a woman has been rushed to St. Peter’s hospital on the island while the other two; the boat operator and his assistant are fine.
Police are yet to make a comment on what has happened.
