As the day draws new for Annual Lakeshore Conference for the Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM), NICO Group Malawi has donated Mk5.5 million towards the event.

The conference which is slated for three days from October 28 to 30 will be held under the theme “Adapt bodily in the discomfort of global change.”

Speaking on behalf of NICO Group Managing Director Vizenge Kumwenda, NICO Life Insurance Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Eric Chapola said the company appreciate the role played by IIM in the country hence the donation.

“The conference will provide an opportunity for insurance players to meet, brainstorm and share ideas on how to improve the industry. Insurance players will also discuss challenges being faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and how we can deal with it,” said Chapola.

Chapola also assured the IIM that it will continue supporting it.

On his part, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Golden Jamu hailed NICO Group Malawi for the timely donation.

“As you are aware we are going through challenging times as an industry as well as individual companies so to have a company to give us such amount of money is a sign of trust,” said Jamu.

Jamu further hinted that during the conference participants will explore a range of unique opportunity to gain first hand insight into industry related issues.

Over 30 companies have supported the conference so far.
