Minister of Education, Agnes Nyalonje is in Dedza inspecting the administration of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.
Nyalonje will inspect four examination centres in Dedza, including Dedza Secondary School, Umbwi Secondary School, Mchisu and Katsekaminga secondary schools.
The MSCE examinations have commenced today, with 128 969 candidates expected to sit the examinations this year according to figures from the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB), a drop from the 154 147 candidates in 2020.
Mayamiko Chiwaya, spokesperson for Maneb said 128,993 students are expected to sit the examinations this year.
Chiwaya said security will be provided by officers from Malawi Defense Force and Malawi Police Service.
