Two people identified as Dalitso Chaima, 26 and Yamikani Dickson, 27 are in police custody in Ntchisi for allegedly stealing K110,000 from an Airtel money agent at the boma market.
Ntchisi police publicist, Sergeant Yohane Tasowana said that the two are suspected to have connived with Rameck Mzuli whom the two said is their pastor to steal money from the Airtel money agent so that they could be registered in the Satanism cult.
He claims the pastor ordered the two to break a candle into pieces and mix it with two eggs and a needle to be put in a bag as part of a ritual and later on send some money to him.
The two approached an Airtel money agent and sent K110,000 to Mzuli so that they could have K7 million in their bag to share and be registered in Satanism automatically, but the Airtel money agent noticed that the two had no money to give him after the transaction and alerted the police.
As police are still investigating the matter, the two who hail from Chauwa village in the area of senior chief Malenga in the district have been charged with theft by trick.
