The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) is challenging the victory of Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) victory in Mzimba East Constituency in the just ended by-elections.
Wachepa Phiri is the one who emerged victorious beating MCP’s Donex Muva.
MCP’s spokesperson Maurice Munthali has confirmed to the members of the press.
However, Phiri could not give specific reasons.
Results from the Constituency Tally Center shows that MCP candidate Donnex Muva scooped 3, 615 votes against 3, 633 of Phiri, creating a difference of 18 votes.
There is controversy over a result from Chipumulo polling centre which shows that Phiri amassed two figures, 77 and 44 on the same column.
