President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s special advisor on youth and arts Lucius Banda has condemned the barbaric assault of a boy suspected to have stolen Irish potatoes in Ntcheu.

On Thursday, the social media was wash with a video clip showing a man identified as Vincent Dzimazi whipping and torturing a little boy in Ntcheu.

Writing on his official facebook after watching the video clip, Banda could not hide his sadness on the matter.

“Facebook deleted my earlier video regarding this barbaric behaviour from this man.

“The behaviour protrayed by this man is totally uncalled for and we should strongly condemn it. Children and the youth at large are to be protected, loved, safe guarded, guided with pure love and wisdom to nurture them to be better citizens of our beloved nation, Malawi,” wrote Banda.

He added: “Many thanks to the government authorities and private stake holders for a rapid response when the voices were heard for this little man.

“Together we can make a better Malawi for all,” he added.

The suspect is currently in police custody.
