The Ministry of Education Science and Technology has released the 2022 academic calendar, with terms one and two set at ten weeks and term three at 12 weeks.
In the calendar, the first term is scheduled to commence on January 4, 2022, and ends on March 11, 2022, the second term commences on March 28 and ends on June 3 while the third term commences on June 20 to September 9, 2022.
The Ministry has set a two-week holiday each for terms one and two and four-week holiday for term three.
Secretary for education Chikondano Mussa says the academic calendar is short to enable the Ministry to return to the original calendar which begins in September and ends in July.
The school calendar was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic which led to school closures.
