The Senior Resident Magistrates Court in Mulanje has fined two men for producing fake seeds.
The two, Emmanuel Buledi, 35, and Morson Chimenya, 59, were found with 117 and 17 packets labelled Panar Seed and Seed-co respectively.
The two pleaded guilty to the charges and have been ordered to pay K200,000 and K150,000 respectively.
Mulanje police spokesperson Gresham Ngwira has since called on people to be vigilant when buying seeds as the country approaches the rainy season.
