Two officers, a clerk and a messenger from Kasungu District Commissioner’s office have been arrested for allegedly uttering a false document authorizing 111 people to stay in Kasungu National Park which is a protected area.

According to Kasungu Police Station Public Relations Officer, Sub Inspector Joseph Kachikho, the suspects are Kingsley Chiwoko Banda, 52, from Nsalanyama village, Traditional Authority Kapelula and Ben Magazine Tambala, 55, from Magwalangwa village, Traditional Authority Wimbe both in Kasungu district.

It is reported that, the two produced a stamped document authorising the group of 111 people who were arrested on 29 October 2021, to stay in the protected area.

The two are expected to appear in court soon to answer a charge of uttering false documents contrary to 360 of the Penal code.
