Minibus Owners Association of Malawi will from next week start staging a national-wide stay away in protest against tollgate fees which they describe as ‘too expensive’.

Among others, they feel that the fees for their vehicles which range from K3, 400 to K5, 100 are exorbitant.

According to Coaxley Kamange, Secretary General for MOAM, they have proposed that government should consider reducing the fees to K500 and K600 respectively.

The fees were gazetted by the Finance Ministry on 6th August before the implementation which has started this month.
