President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is expected to arrive in the country today from United Kingdom where he attended the High Level Segment of the 26th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP 26) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

According to the statement, President Chakwera left Glasgow International Airport at around 18:30 hours.

The plane carrying President Chakwera and the First Lady Monica Chakwera is expected to land at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in the capital Lilongwe at 4pm.

Chakwera will be welcomed by the State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima.
