The body of Reverend Father Billy Blazio Pedegu of the Roman Catholic was on Friday laid to rest in Dedza.

Father Pedegu succumbed to Pneumonia at Mua Hospital in Dedza on Wednesday afternoon.

In his homily Fr Cosmas Kadzombe reminded that ‘death is going back home to our Father,Hence Fr Pedegu has returned to the Father.

He described late Pedegu as someone “who was always proud of his priesthood, a friend to everyone and he lived a sacrificial life for the common Good”, narrated Fr Kadzombe.

Cross-cutting the story of Lazarus in the Gospel of John ,he reminded all that before God there is no time, ‘A thousand years in the eyes of God is like a single day’. Much as death is painful, we must remember always to do God’s will by living the Motto of St. Martin Deporres who is the Patron Saint of the Diocese.

“My time will not be my own”. As we live, we must surrender our time before God’s will.
