An angry mob in Chiradzulu killed a man for allegedly breaking into a building and stealing groceries, a plasma and K85,000.

According to Chiradzulu district Police spokesperson, Innocent Moses, identified the deceased as One Steven.

Police suspect that Steven alongside others went to Innocent Pahuwa’s house in Mwiphiwa Village, Tradional Authority (T/A) Nkalo where they committed the offence using crobers and machetes. They also injured the house owner.

Villagers mobilized themselves and caught Charles Banda 31, of Mwalabu Village from T/A Kalembo in Balaka district and Steven whose detailed particulars are yet to be known.

Police said the two were heavily assaulted which led to death of Steven.
