President Lazarus Chakwera has held his comment on the bloated security of National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) Deputy Chief Executive Officer Hellen Buluma.
One of the country’s media houses last month wrote a story in which it revealed that Buluma uses millions a month to pay for her security detail which she is not entitled to.
Today, during a press statement, when asked on the same, president Chakwera avoided to comment.
According to the president, he will comment on the matter when he is furnished with a report.
The issue of Buluma and her bloated security brought a heated public debate which resulted to firing of two officials from NOCMA on the suspicious that they leaked the information to the media.
The media house also revealed that the journalists who were working on the said story were threatened by Buluma a development which angered MISA-Malawi.
