High court in Nigeria has sentenced Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT) to 61 years in prison.
Maina was arrested on the allegations that he was involved in operating fictious bank accounts, corruption and money laundering.
According to reports, Maina managed to embezzle money amounting to 2 billion Naira alongside his firm, Common Input Property and Investment Limited.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria secured a major victory in the fight against corruption as they saw Maina being sent to prison where he will spend the next 61 years of his life.
