The Industrial Relations Court has set aside default judgment obtained by Paul Mphwiyo who argued that his interdiction from civil service without pay was unlawful.
The former budget director was interdicted pending conclusion of the criminal trial involving theft and money laundering of K2.4 billion.
Attorney General, Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda, applied for the judgment to be set aside on grounds that it was irregular as Mphwiyo failed to give the respondent three-month notice before commencing the action.
The court has, therefore, ordered the Attorney General to file defense within 14 days from November 8th, 2021.
