Livingstonia Synod of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) has rated the performance of Tonse government for the past 16 months poorly, giving it 40 percent score.
The synod’s General Secretary Reverend William Tembo cited two key performance indicators; governance and development implementation as major areas in which the government has not done well.
However, Tembo said President Lazarus Chakwera and Vice President Saulos Chilima have the potential to do well if given ample time and support by the citizenry.
Tonse government came into power in 2020 after he defeated incumbent Peter Mutharika with 58.57%.

Malawians are yet to test the sweetness from Tonse government.
