Lilongwe Chief Resident Magistrate Patrick Chirwa has set 23rd of November 2021, as a day he will deliver a ruling on whether charges being leveled against Newton Kambala former minister of energy and 2 others, should be dismissed or not.

Kambala, Chris Chaima Banda former Advisor to President Lazarus Chakwera and Enoch Chihana Aford President applied to have their case dismissed citing lack of consistency on the charges being leveled against the accused.

The three are accused of interfering with Awarding of fuel contracts following a complaint to ACB by Hellen Buluma NOCMA’s Acting Chief executive officer.

This is happening following Amendment of their Charges by the ACB which the defense is objecting.

According to the Defense the fresh charge sheet does not state where the accused committed the crime.
