Minister of Civic Education and National Unity, Timothy Mtambo, has told Parliament that he has never led violent demonstrations.

Mtambo said this in Parliament when responding to accusation made by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Thyolo Central Ben Phiri that he led violent demonstrations before becoming a minister.

He argued that he led demonstrations that followed the law, pointing out that if he never followed the law then he could have been arrested and brought before the courts.

However, Second Deputy Speaker Aisha Adams has since cautioned the Parliamentarians not to dwell on the past.
