President Lazarus Chakwera is tomorrow expected to inaugurate the 60 MW Power Plant in Salima District.

This is according to a statement by Secretary to the President and Cabinet Zanga-Zanga Chikhosi.

Chakwera returns today from Durban, South Africa where he attended the 2nd Intra Africa Trade Affair.

Chakwera is coming under intense criticism for his alleged “appetite” for travels amid economic hardships haunting majority of Malawian citizens.

But the Malawi leader has repeatedly called on the citizens to persevere the current economic sufferings as his administration works on recovering the situation.

Economists and political commentators have challenged him to be exemplary by cutting down on his travels to save public resources.
