The United Transformation Movement (UTM) has condemned recent remarks uttered by its National Director of Youth Bon Kalindo against the country’s President Lazarus Chakwera.

Last week Kalindo was making headline for accusing President Chakwera of failing to run affairs of the country attributing the continued rising cost of living and went as far as calling for his resignation.

Kalindo the announced that he will mobilize Malawians to the streets starting from November 19, 2021 as a way of expressing dissatisfaction of how Tonse Alliance is running its affairs.

However, Frank Mwenifumbo, UTM’s spokesperson said Kalindo went overboard hauling insults on President Chakwera and his Vice Saulos Chilima whop also happens to be UTM’s party President.

According to Mwenifumbo, it is understandable that Malawians are going through hard time and they are expecting the Tone Alliance administration to fulfill campaign promises.

Despite that Kalindo is fighting for a due course, Mwenifumbo said he would have considered “the borderlines of civilized and respectful engagement.”

Mwenifumbo continued that there was no reason to insult anyone for whatever cause.

But the UTM statement does not indicate if Kalindo will be summoned for any disciplinary hearing over his remarks.

President Chakwera is increasingly coming under intense pressure and criticism for allegedly failing to fulfill campaign promises and provide immediate solutions on the current rising cost of living.
