Mind of Youth Development (MYOD), a youth group is planning to obtain a court injunction against United Transformation Movement (UTM) Director of Youth Bon Kalindo’s proposed demonstrations.
Kalindo, announced last week that he will mobilize Malawians of good will to the streets to protest against the leadership of President Lazarus Chakwera and the Tonse Alliance.
Kalindo is accusing president Chakwera administration of failing to honor campaign promises and that under his leadership Malawians are suffering due to the continued rising of cost of living.
In his remarks, MYOD leader Joseph Peshi is claiming that Kalindo is pushing his own agenda and simply wants to abuse the youth.
Peshi adds they are pushing to share notes with President Lazarus Chakwera on the economic crisis.
But legal expert Professor Edge Kanyongolo describes the injunction plan as extremely strange and thinks it says a lot on the motivation behind as the constitution provides the right to demonstrate.
