Zambia: a political analyst has described calls by some Zambians to have former President Edgar Lungu’s immunity lifted as witch hunt.

Alex Ng’oma has told the media in an interview that what the people are demanding for the removal of President Lungu’s immunity need to do is to provide a list of suspensions of what wrongs they think he has committed.

Mr Ng’oma further said the people should than take the list to parliament, which will be able to pass it on to President Hakainde Hichilema.

He added that thereafter, President Hichilema will present the notice of motion before parliament to lift President Edgar Chagwa Lungu’s immunity.

“What they are doing is witch hunt, because they are putting a cat before the horse,” he said.

Some United Party for National Development (UPND) members last week presented a petition to President Hakainde Hichilema demanding for the removal of President Lungu’s immunity.

They say removing his immunity will pave way for investigations against President Lungu’s alleged various corruption charges.
