Thieves have broke into the Likoma Fisheries office and made away with a set of desktop computer value at K695, 000.00.
Acting District Fisheries Officer, Clifton Botha, said this morning that the break-in appears to have occurred between Friday last week and yesterday when he was away on other office duties on Chizumulu Island.
The office has no security guard.
The stolen computer is the only device the office was using to keep daily fish catch assessment data and reference information for over the 10 previous years.
The matter has been reported to police.
