Police have arrested two people in Mzuzu during demonstrations, on suspicion that they were blocking the dual carriage way on their return from the Civic Offices.

Mzuzu Police Public Relations Officer Paul Tembo confirmed the development, saying they will be charged with conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

The protesters have since presented their petition to President Lazarus Chakwera, through Mzuzu City Council.

Meanwhile, the Bon Kalindo-led demonstrations are underway in Blantyre following series of chaos in the morning.

Currently, the protestors are marching to Blantyre Civic Offices.
