Malawi Police Service (MPS) at Area 30 in the Capital City Lilongwe has sent on forced leave one of its Commissioner, Stan Kaliza, responsible for Human Resources, Management, and Development following sexual misconduct allegations against him.
Police spokesperson James Kadadzera has confirmed the development in a statement while disclosing that the men in uniform have launched an investigation into the claims which went viral on social media on Friday, November 19th.
According to Kadadzera, the Malawi Police Service has commenced investigations following screenshots indicating that Kaliza sexually abused a junior female officer at the Malawi Police Service.
Once concluded, the findings will be referred to the Police Service Commission which holds the mandate of disciplining officers.
It is claimed that Kaliza, who is Commissioner responsible for Human Resource, allegedly slept with 45 female police officers in exchange for favors such as job promotions.
