The funeral and cremation of South Africa’s last apartheid president, Frederik Willem de Klerk, takes place on Sunday 21st  November 2021.

As per his family’s wishes, it will be a private ceremony.

De Klerk died of cancer at the age of 85.

The South African flag has been flying at half-mast and will continue to do so until Sunday evening.

A state memorial service will take place at a later stage
