Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) president Peter Mutharika will soon come out of his cocoon and hold a political rally for the first time after he lost the June 23, 20202 fresh president elections.

The party’s spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba confirmed saying that the former president will focus on the socio-economic challenges rocking the country.

According to Namalomba, Mutharika will assemble all DPP’s presidential aspirants together at the rally.

The former head of state said that apart from speaking of the economic challenges the people are facing, he will also provide solutions.

However, he could not tell when the rally will take place and where, adding that when all is set the general public will be told.

Over the weekend, Mutharika invited all the party’s presidential aspirants to his house in Nyambadwe, Blantyre where among other’s he asked them to be patient saying that when the time is right the party will go to convention to elect his successor.

Mutharika also asked the presidential aspirants to accept defeat and support whoever will be elected as DPP’s president.

Kondwani Nankhumwa, Prophet David Mbewe, Joseph Mwananvekha were among the people meeting Mutharika.
