One of the presidential aspirants for the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Prophet David Mbewe is daring the Tonse Alliance leadership to admit that they are failing to address socio-economic challenges rocking the country.
Prophet Mbewe who is also the president for Freedom of Worship Association in Malawi (FAWAM) made the remarks in Nsanje where he donated assorted items to chiefs and elderly people while pledging to provide small loans to people to cushion them in the economic crisis.
According to Prophet it would be easier for the current leadership to come clean and declare its failure to provide solutions to several economic crisis Malawians are currently going through.
Attributing to Tonse Alliance’s campaign promises in 2020 prior to the fresh elections, Mbewe said that they are now failing to fulfil because they promised a lot of things.
According to Mbewe, Malawians have now lost trust in President Lazarus Chakwera and his administration.
Government through its spokesperson Gospel Kazako has been asking Malawians to exercise patience on the economic challenges they are going through saying that government is working tirelessly to ensure that everything is contained.
President Chakwera has also admitted that the country is going through a lot but asked to endure the pain as everything will get back to normal soon.
