President Lazarus Chakwera will not appear in Parliament to answer questions from the Members of Parliament this coming Wednesday as per requirement, citing ‘other engagements.’

This is according to Richard Chimwendo Banda who is the Leader of the House in parliament.

Yesterday, Chimwendo Banda moved a motion to wave standing order 75 to allow the president to attend to other important matters.

Among others, Chimwendo Banda said that the president is hosting President Filipe Nyusi of the neighboring Mozambique who is in the country

The motion was therefore passed by both sides in the August House.

Since he came to power last year, Chakwera has been appearing before the legislatures to answer questions on various issues raised in the house.
