A jilted woman is reported to have stabbed her husband to death after he slept over at his girlfriend’s house.
20-year-old Christina Matutu was arrested by Featherstone Police on Wednesday after she killed her husband Felix Mutasa (24).
The Mirror reports that the now deceased and Christina were both farmworkers at Plot 72 Charter Estate, Featherstone.
According to the police report, Mutasa left home to visit his girlfriend Cencia Chimunda of Village 8, Tsungi Beatrice on Wednesday at around 3 pm. Mutasa did not return home instead he slept over at Chimunda’s place of residence
The next day, Mutasa reported for work at The Estate and his wife questioned him about his whereabouts the previous night.
Responding to his wife’s question, Mutasa is alleged to have told his wife that he no longer loved her and that he slept at Chimunda’s place.
After work, as they were on their way home Christina is alleged to have asked her husband why he was cheating on her. Enraged by his wife’s inquisition Mutasa is reported to have assaulted Matutu with a stick before he was refrained by some passers-by.
However, when they got home, Christina is said to have withdrawn a knife and stabbed Mutasa once in the chest. Mutasa reportedly bled profusely and died on the spot.
After stabbing her husband, Christina informed Steven Timothy, who also works at the same farm. He rushed to the scene but found Mutasa already dead.
