A bride spent her wedding night dancing with an iPad mannequin after her groom suffered severe food poisoning.
On her wedding day, Christine Karmire was forced to dance with a make-shift mannequin with an iPad head instead of her groom. A video capturing the bizarre moment was shared on TikTok by The Victorian, a wedding venue in Youngsville, North Carolina.
The clip captioned “When the groom suddenly becomes sick & goes to the hospital on wedding day,” gained over 900,000 views in no time.
In the video, the gorgeous bride can be seen desperately trying to make the best out of her special day even after her future husband, Gannon, was rushed to the hospital. Not only did she dance with the mannequin, but she also cut the wedding cake and took pictures with it, as if it was her partner himself alongside her.
And, apparently, Christine and Gannon’s guests didn’t mind playing along, as they took hundreds of selfies with the fake groom.
Luckily, Gannon is doing much better now. However, most commenters were quick to praise his beautiful bride for having “the best attitude” in such a delicate situation.
One person said:
“I love how they rolled with the punches and kept the joy.”
Another wrote:
“The bride had the best attitude,” while a third noted: “I would literally cry the entire time.”
The groom himself joined the conversation in the comment section. He said:
“GROOM HERE! HUGE Thank you to the Victorian. This was our third attempt at a ‘covid’ wedding.
Due to other attempts and hospital regulations, and hopes for me returning to the ceremony. I wanted her to stay with her friends and family. We’ve been happily together for almost 8 years, with many more to come.”
The unfortunate groom explained he ended up hospitalized just two hours before the ceremony. He managed to get out later that night, having the time just to stop by the venue and go home with his wife.
Gannon added:
“I’ve been asleep for the better part of 56 hours recovering, have many texts and messages to get back to people, but I am happy and healthy!”
