Dowa Police spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha said the suspect, Chabwera Bekete, was arrested on the night of December 2, 2021 at Bimphi Village during a sweeping exercise Police conducted in the district.
He said at the time of his arrest, the suspect was found with assorted medical drugs such as tablets of Bactrim, LA, Amoxicillin, Bufen, Vitamin B, Flagil, Piriton, Doxycycline, Indocid, Salbutamol, Prantaquanzil and Benzypencilin bottle, among others.
According to M’bumpha, the value of the medical drugs has not yet been established.
Bekete, who comes hails Bimphi Village in Traditional Authority Chiwere’s area in the district, will appear in court soon to answer a charge of found in possession of medical drugs without a licence.
