Two people died after being involved in a road accident at Chitimba Health Center in Rumphi district on Saturday

Police in the district confirmed the accident and identified the victims as a one year old baby from Mulanje and a woman still not known.

According to Rumphi Police Public Relations Officer, Tupeliwe Kabwiro the driver Timothy Manda was driving a motor vehicle registration number MH8552 Nissan Caravan minibus from Mzuzu heading Karonga.

Upon arrival at the said place the rear tire of the vehicle got burst which made the driver fail to control the vehicle.

The vehicle swerved to offside lane where it overturned several times.
