President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has appointed two ministers filling some of the vacant positions which existed for some time in his Cabinet.

The ministers appointed are Jacob Hara, as Minister of Transport and Public Works, while political scientist and the University of Malawi (UNIMA) Lecturer, Professor Blessings Chinsinga is now Minister of Local Government.

Ministry of Local Government and Ministry of Transport and Public Works has operated with deputy Ministers following the demise of Lingson Belekanyama and Muhammad Sidik Mia respectively.

A statement signed by Zangazanga Chikhosi, Secretary to the President and Cabinet says the appointments are with immediate effect.
